WHAT IS LABIAPLASTY?

Labiaplasty surgery is performed only to correct the deformities of
the inner lip and outer lips in the vulva region; The name of the
surgeries performed for the vagina area is “vaginoplasty”. For
this reason, naming such as vaginal inner lip aesthetics, vaginal lip
surgery or vaginal lip reduction surgery is wrong because inner lip
and outer lips are anatomical structures belonging to the vulva
region, not structures belonging to the vagina region. Since the
incidence of deformity in the inner lips is more common than the
deformity seen in the outer lips, "labiaplasty" surgery is often used
instead of correction surgery of the inner lips. However, it should be

labiaplasty.

LABIAPLASTY METHODS

The most common labiaplasty techniques are applied by surgeons are
trim labiaplasty, radiofrequency labiaplasty, laser labioplasty and

TRIM LABIOPLASTY

labiaplasty, the adjacent tissue damage is minimal and this is an
advantage, but it is difficult to control bleeding in this method.

RADIOFREQUENCY LABIAPLASTY

In radiofrequency labiaplasty, the inner lips are reduced using a
radiofrequency device. Because in this method, side tissue damage is
less. While cutting the tissue, the intact tissue does not burn, and
it is another advantage to provide bleeding control.

Radiofrequency is the most advantageous method among these techniques.
Because when cutting the tissue, it does not bleed and does not cause
burns. The thermal damage caused by radiofrequency in the tissue is
limited to 1 micron, it provides an advantage in terms of removing the
tissue in the form of a wedge thanks to the needle-tipped electrode
and not thickening the inner lip after labiaplasty.

With the radiofrequency needle electrode, an incision is made first on
the inner part of the inner lip and then on the outer part. The point
to be considered at this stage is the angle of the needle-tipped
electrode when making an incision on the inner lip. The inner lip
should be cut at an angle of 45 degrees in the sagittal plane, and in
the same way, when making an incision from the inner part of the inner
lip, an incision should be made at an angle of 45 degrees in the
sagittal plane and the tissue in the form of an apple slice should be
removed. In this way, a wedge-shaped piece is removed from the inner
lips in the longitudinal axis and the two surfaces of the remaining
inner lip are stitched together. The aim here is to preserve the thin
form of the inner lips.

WEDGE LABIAPLASTY

Unlike trim labiaplasty, triangular-wedge-shaped tissue is removed
from the middle or lower part of the inner lips, and the remaining
lips are stitched together. It is a method that is preferred in cases
where the inner lip dimensions and volume are high. The advantage of
this method is the preservation of the natural color of the inner lip.
The disadvantage of performing labiaplasty with the wedge technique is
the possibility of damage to the central artery and it may cause the
stitches to open during the wound healing period with a 1%
probability.

DEEPITELIZATION LABIAPLASTY

In this technique, window-shaped tissue is removed from the inner and
outer parts of the inner lip, and then the outer wings of the window
are stitched together. The purpose of deepitelization labiaplasty is
to protect the nerves and vessels in the inner lip.

BEFORE LABIAPLASTY OPERATION

With the pre-procedure examination, it is determined your treatment
